About Project
Although Shwe Hlan Htaung Monastery School was initially assumed to be just a regular school, upon on-site observation it became clear that it is a school providing education under extremely difficult conditions to refugees from the border areas, offering them shelter and a place to study. The school is located on a rocky hilltop, where the terrain makes construction planning highly challenging and imposes many limitations. The dormitories and school buildings have been painstakingly constructed using tin sheets on the available land. The school’s administration is well-organized, and the students deeply value the hard-won education they receive, believing that education offers them hope to change their destinies. To support this school, a three-story school building with 11 classrooms and a three-story girls’ dormitory were donated. Additionally, to help the children further improve, two computer rooms equipped with 46 computers were provided, along with repeated donations for living expenses.
