About Project
Although the Shwe Sin Min Nunnery School originally had a two-storey school building with 12 classrooms, it had deteriorated significantly due to damage and was repurposed as a girls’ dormitory. As a result, the students now attend classes inside a three-storey Dhamma lecture hall, which was donated by Reverend Hitao from Taiwan and other benefactors. The institution operates as a post-primary school, currently accommodating 835 students. For higher-grade levels, students are transported to nearby government schools using school-provided transportation.
Given this situation, the head nun has faced considerable difficulties, and there was a critical need for a proper school building. Upon inspection, it was evident that the existing school building was not only inadequate but also posed serious safety hazards. In response to these challenges, a four-storey school building with 16 classrooms was constructed and donated at the site of the old structure. Additionally, 31 computers and bunk beds for the girls’ dormitory were also donated to support the students’ education and well-being.
