About Project

Dhamar Nanda Monastery School is located in a prominent gem-mining area of Myanmar where foreign visitors are strictly restricted. As a result, the school operates solely on donations from local residents, with very few external donors.

The school mainly serves children from nearby stone-mining families and from surrounding villages that face educational challenges. Children who complete primary school often board at Dhamar Nanda Monastery school to continue their middle and high school education.

Currently, the school has only one two-story building with three classrooms. Because of the lack of sufficient classrooms, the building is used for classes during the day and converted into dormitories at night.

Dhamar Nanda School now supports over 400 students from KG to Grade 10. To address the pressing need for more space, the Pann Thee Foundation donated a new two-story school building with eight classrooms. Additionally, recognizing the difficulties students face in accessing other resources, the foundation also provided 31 computers to help them gain valuable digital skills.
