About Project

Aung Myay Oo School is located in an area where many novice monks (Thilashin) reside, and the school benefits from their support for education. The school campus is divided into three compounds, serving over 2,600 students.

  • First Campus:

    • Contains 33 classrooms.

    • Some rooms serve as bamboo huts, temporary shelters, or dormitories.

    • Certain classrooms accommodate about 250 students sleeping on mats.

  • Second Campus:

    • Includes a kitchen, dining hall, and a small girls’ dormitory housing 35 girls and 2 female teachers.

    • A two-story building was constructed here with the dining hall on the ground floor and a dormitory with bunk beds for the girls on the upper floor, allowing the girls and teachers to move into new accommodations.

  • Third Campus:

    • Features a three-story classroom building with 12 classrooms.

    • The basement is used as a dormitory for 30 students.

    • The top floor had unfinished steel frame structures initially.

    • A temporary shelter housed 50 girls and 5 female teachers on the top floor.

Upon evaluating the campus area, some vacant land was noted. After the new construction, although issues initially improved, the student population grew rapidly.

  • As a result, the teacher requested additional dormitories and classrooms.

  • In the third campus, an old dormitory area was redeveloped into a two-story dormitory with bunk beds to accommodate 350 students.

  • The unfinished third floor of the three-story classroom building was completed.

  • Another 12-classroom, three-story school building was donated.

  • To further support student development, 2 computer classrooms with 62 computers were also donated.
